When fitness enthusiasts
learned we'd be remaining in our homes for a long time, home gym equipment
began to fly off the shelves, pull-up bars became practically difficult to come
by, and the peloton app was released in April 2020.
People have already begun to establish home gyms, so the demand for bicycles and treadmills has risen.
Even though it's been almost a year since then, at-home workouts appear to be here to stay and the peloton fever is still going strong.

Before I started using
the Peloton app, I assumed the class choices would be similar to the hundreds
of other training programs I'd tried.
Peloton disproved my
assumptions. When I launch the app, I can search a database of thousands of
former classes to run in addition to seeing dozens of live sessions planned
each day.
Peloton provides ten different types of workouts:
Strength training, yoga,
aerobics, meditation, indoor and outdoor jogging, cycling, stretching,
Bootcamp, and strolling are just a few of the activities available.
You may either take individual streaming lessons in any of these areas or commit to multi-week goal-oriented workout regimens.
The peloton makes it simple to get lost in my
activities by proposing new chapters depending on my finished and ranking ones.
How much does it cost?
If you sign up by April
30th, you may try the app for free at home for 90 days.
If you don't have a
Peloton app, the app costs $19.49 per month, or $39 per month if you use it
with your Peloton bike.
Why is there a distinction?
You can view your own
data throughout the class, see how you're doing through others, and even race
against other leaderboards during live sessions if you have a bike.
You can take classes on-demand using the General Fitness app, but you won't be able to race other class participants or keep track of your own stats.

This is where we discovered the biggest surprise. This is how the prices are split.

- Basics package: $2,404 (or $62 per month with approved funds for 39 months.
- A bike, spinning shoes, headphones, and one set of weights are included.

- Cycling, shoes, headphones, weights, heart rate monitor, and bike mat are all included.
- $2,694 or $70 per month for 39 months with approved financing) for a family package.
- Two pairs of shoes, two water bottles, two heart rate monitors, two sets of headphones, one cycle mat, and one set of weights are included in the package.
Cons of Peloton
- The peloton app was no exception to the rule that no app is ever perfect. While we liked this app, these are some of the most significant "cons" from our Peloton experience.
- You must be conversant in Peloton. When we used rotational and walking exercises, this was one of the first things we saw.
- It can be a bit confusing if you don't have a Peloton product and haven't listened to their lesson in their language (i.e. the phrase cadence instead of velocity).
- The elapsed time is not shown at the bottom of the screen. Maybe that's nitpicky, but we prefer to know how much time we have left in practice, and you can't tell how much time is left when you're in class.
- The app does not allow you to stream to your TV.
- If you were attempting to cast HIIT and strength activities from your app to your TV, this was a bit annoying. To view your workouts on the big screen, you'll need a smart TV with the Peloton app installed.
- There isn't much in terms of appearance and security.
- One of the first things we think about when it comes to exercises as chiropractors are certainly safety and injury prevention.
- There are lots of beginner-friendly sessions, but there aren't many corrections, attention on technique, or effort on overcoming the injury.
- We've seen programs like BeachBody do it, but there's something to keep in mind when doing out with the Peloton.
- You should be able to obtain a challenging workout while also learning how to alter certain exercises to meet your individual needs.
